Silval - Quinta do Noval Vinhos SA

Silval is a brand of Quinta do Noval and is based on grapes from Quinta do Noval and other quintas. The name was from the start Quinta do Silval but was later change to just Silval. Quinta do Noval owns a small plot inside the Quinta do Silval area and has registered Silval as a brand name. Silval is made to be a vintage port that matures faster than the ordinary Quinta do Noval vintage port.

TasteMedium body. Mature and peaking but maybe a little old and tired. Still balanced. Cream candy, toffee and butterscotch in taste and with a nice and attractive finish. Easy to drink and enjoy this port.Average score

TasteMedium body. Mature but still with some soft tannin and will perhaps be a little better, but very attractive today. Complex and quite balanced with cream candy and toffee in taste. Modern style of port and quite sweet but with a dry and very long and attractive finish. Very easy to drink and like this port.Average score

TasteMedium body. Lots of lovely tannins and is of course immature but balanced and will be much better. Very elegant and quite complex. Lovely taste with a long but with quite aggressive tannins in a wonderful finish. Quite impressive portAverage score
