Quinta do Tua

Quinta do Tua

Owner Symington family

Belonged to Cockburn, now part of Symington.

This quinta was owned by the legendary Dona Antonia Adelaide Ferreira. She bought the quinta in 1871. The quinta was then bought by Cockburn in 1889. For many years the quinta was known as the Quinta dos Inglezes. The property has for many years been associated with research projects, focused on improving the quality of Port.

In 1973 the adjacent Quinta da Chousa was acquired and since then both properties have been developed as a single property. This quinta was sold by Cockburn in 2006 to the Symington family.
