Quinta de Roriz

Quinta de Roriz Vinhos, S.A.

Founded 1764
Owner Symington family estates and Prats

Quinta de Roriz is one of the oldest and finest estates in the Douro. Robert Archibald from Scotland starts growing grapes here already in the 18th century and 1760 the quinta was sold to Kopke family. Through marriage it has been owned by the van Zellers family since 1815. Roriz was certainly the very first Single Quinta Vintage Port ever to be offered and the first Quinta to establish fame and reputation for the quality of its wines. Gonzales-Byass made vintage port from this quinta from 1901 to the 1930s.

Symington family began its relationship with Quinta de Roriz in 1998 through a partnership with Joao van Zeller and became joint owner of the quinta in 2009 with Prats.
