Quinta do Pégo

Quinta do Pego - Sociedade Agrícola e Vitivínicola, S.A.

Owner AMKA

Quinta do Pégo has produced wines since before 1548 - according to historical documents. However, Quinta do Pégo’s first Vintage Port is Vintage 2000 which was delivered with the text “Quinta do Pégo Virgin Vintage 2000” printed on the cork.

In December 1999 Quinta do Pégo was bought by AMKA (50%) and Calem (50%). AMKA is a Danish wine importer company, started in 1978 by Anna Marie Søndergaard. The first vintage of 2000 was produced and bottled by Calem. In 2003, AMKA bought Calem's share and today Quinta do Pégo is owned by Anna Marie & Karsten Søndergaard (=AMKA) and since contracted with Rozès in 2003 their port wine is bottled by Rozès.
