Since the beginning of the 18th century Quinta do Castelinho are known as a property of great importance in the Douro region due to its privileged location, near Cachão da Valeira in São João da Pesqueira. For some decades the property has been owned by the Saraiva family. In 1986, after the laws that change the Port Wine market, the family opened a company specially to sell their own wine. Following this, a new quintas were bought, Quinta de São Domingos, in 1994 from Ramos Pinto.

Taste	Medium body. Still immature but balanced and easy to drink and like. Not a long runner but attractive finish.	Average score

Bouquet	Chocolate, cacao, roasted coffee and old grocery shop in the nose.	Score range	15.75 - 16.40
Taste	Quite lovely body. Peaking and almost peaking with some round and quite elegant tannins but will probably not improve much. Balanced and quite sweet with a quite complex and quite long but very attractive finish. Lovely port!	Average score	16.02

Bouquet	Fudge, cacao, dark chocolate, some toffee and spiciness in the nose.	Score range	15.50 - 15.50
Taste	Medium body. Mature almost peaking but with some unbalanced acidity. Cacao, dark chocolate and some spiciness in taste with a nice and rather long but not quite clean finish.	Average score
