Flagman
Flagman Ltd.
| Owner | Former import brand of Egger & Franke, Bremen, Germany, for wines produced by Douro Wine Shippers and Growers Association. Lda. |
|---|
Flagman was a brand shipped by Douro Wine Shippers and Growers Association which in turn belonged to Barros Almeida. Neither Flagman nor Douro Wine Shippers and Growers exists anymore. Flagman was the import brand of Egger & Franke, Bremen, Germany. On the bottles it states that the port was ”Produced, bottled and shipped by The Douro Wine Shippers and Growers Association, LDA” for ”Flagman Ltd., - London”. However, Flagman is not a brand known in the UK. Flagman was sold as a commodity brand on the German market. Douro Wine Shippers and Growers mostly shipped private-labelled Port for their European clients, and in many cases used the Buyer's own brand (BOB).
