| Owner | José Pinheiro |
José Pinheiro started the company Gesprove after leaving a position as winemaker at Sandeman in 2003. For many years he focused on red and white table wines, but he always had as a goal to also produce Port Wine.
The company has a vineyard in S. João da Pesqueira, next to the emblematic dam of “Cachão da Valeira” where the famous Baron of Forrester lost his life in a shipwreck. The vineyard is in the transition between upper Corgo and Douro Superior in one of the few areas in Douro with granitic soil.
