Antonio Abel da Costa started producing wine between 1850 and 1860 in his vine yard in Valongo dos Azetes. His son Raul Gouveia Costa, born in 1889 continued this and start labelling his wine called Quinta de SantoArtonia. After some economical accident he starts selling his grapes directly to Taylors. Oscar Quevedo Sr. start his Port production under own label in 1975 due to the fact that Taylor that year did not want to buy his grapes. However, Taylor retuned after some months and bought all his port. In 1983 the family bought Quinta Vale d’Agodinho and is now producing a Single Quinta Port from this vine yard. In 1991 Oscar Sr restored the old family tradition and Quevedo was born as a Port House.
