The origins of Quinta da Vista Alegre are from the 19th century. In 1973, Agrícola Barros that belongs to the Cunha Barros family bought the quinta. The company that explores Quinta uses presently the name of Vallegre, Vinhos do Porto, S.A. as a modification of its company name in 1998. The company's shareholders represent the fifth generation of a family deeply rooted in the Douro Region who’s export activity begun more than fifty years ago.
