Kranemann Wine Estates was founded in 2018 by Christoph Kranemann. He is a German wine connoisseur who bought Quinta do Convento de São Pedro das Águias where he started a new wine and wine tourism project.
As Quinta do Convento de São Pedro das Águias was already an established wine making quinta he was able to launch an older vintage, 2009 in addition to their vintage 2018. The company states that “Quinta do Convento de São Pedro das Águias, one of the oldest wine-producing properties in the Douro, is the inspiration for our port wines.” For more information about this quinta, see Senhora do Convento.

Colour | Still quite dark ruby with just a yellow mature edge in colour. | Number of tastings | 1 |
Bouquet | Still dominated of dark berries such as mulberry, blackberry and cherry, but also fruit, dried and mature and some herbs in the nose. | Score range | 16.00 - 16.00 |
Taste | Medium body. Quite mature but will be better due to some very elegant and round tannins. Balanced and lots of dark berries and fruit in the mouth. The finish is long, quite exciting due to the round and elegant tannins and also quite complex. | Average score | |
