Quinta do Crasto

Sociedade agrícola da Quinta do Crasto

Founded 1923
Owner Roquette family
Vineyards Quinta do Crasto, Quinta do Querindelo, Quinta da Cabreira
Web-site www.quintadocrasto.pt

The quinta is mentioned already 1615. The property is a historic one and was demarked already 1761. In the 19th century the owner of Constantino’s Port House i.e. Constantino de Almeida bought it from the Sottomayor family. When Constantino de Almeida died in 1923, his son Fernando de Almeida took over the port production. Fernando was proprietor of the House Constatinos when this was sold to Ferreira in 1961. Some old vintages of Constatinos have Quinta do Crasto also on the label such as 1941 and 1963. The current majority shareholders of Crasto are members of the family, i.e. Fernandos daughter Leonor Roquette and her husband Jorge Roquette, that originally owned Constantinos and they bought Quinta do Crastro in 1981. After the act of 7th May 1986 it became possible to sell and export port direct from Douro. Now a new generation i.e. their sons Miguel and Tomas are involved in the port business.

Quinta do Crasto Vintages:1885, 1887, 1927, 1941 (Constantino), 1950, 1958 (Constantino), 1963 (Constantino), 1978, 1982, 1985, 1987, 1988, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019
